Hey guys!
Let’s talk about personal style! As a fashion student, it seems like I should have a concrete idea of what my personal style is, right? WRONG. I have no idea (lol), but it’s about time I figure it out.
So, I’ve been thinking and, until recently, I don’t even think my personal style existed because I didn’t have the pieces to make the outfits I wanted to wear. Now that I’m building up my wardrobe a bit more, my style is becoming a little easier to describe.
In order to describe my style, I decided to think about the way I would dress everyday if I had all the clothes I say I don’t have. The truth is, even if I had my dream closet, the way I feel about my style would change day to day, but, as of today, this is how I’m feeling.
My signature style in three words:
- Modern
- Comfortable
- Street-Chic

My style is nothing like it used to be because, like I said before, it was nonexistent. In the past, the outfits I put together were horrible. High school … OMG. It was horrific. All of my pieces were so busy. My earrings were huge. My scarves were huge. My headbands were huge. I wore bandanas. My hair was pink. It was A LOT. Now, I definitely believe less is more (unless we’re talking about my highlight of course). I do love trends, so I try to incorporate them into my outfit, without doing too much. Like, that “wearing a jacket, but not really wearing a jacket” trend… I do it all the time! And, because I like to be comfortable, most of this time, the simpler the outfit, the better.
I’m also more in to comfort and street style. Until recently, I’ve never owned anything that even resembled a sneaker. I had one pair in high school and they were for gym class. Now-a-days, I’m so over being fancy all the time with heels that are killing my feet and Spanx that are making it hard for me to breathe. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my heels, but, on an average day, you’ll most likely catch me in something sneaker-esque.

While my personal style is still being developed as my closet grows, I think this is a great start to describing it: Modern & Comfortable Street-Chic. I guess it has a nice ring to it. Let’s talk about YOUR personal style. What three words can you think of to describe your style?
XO,
Sydney
