In high school, as I was preparing for college, I only had one HBCU on my list and I honestly can’t remember if I ever finished that application (don’t tell my dad lol). After my freshman year of college, at a school that just wasn’t for me, I put two HBCUs on my transfer list. This time, I know I finished the applications (lol). I got accepted to both, but I didn’t go. Instead, I ended up at a PWI … again. At the time, I didn’t know I would feel this way, but after 4 years at PWIs, a part of me constantly wishes I went to an HBCU. Here are 5 reasons why: Continue reading “Why Didn’t I Go to an HBCU?”

Make Time for Happy Hour
Hey guys!
The weekend is finally here, which means we can put the stress of this crazy week behind us.
As a college student finishing my senior year, I’m always all over the place, doing a million things. If it’s not class, it’s work. If it’s not homework, it’s a meeting. If it’s not a meeting, it’s more work. Whether you’re a student, a mom, or a CEO, one thing you have to do, is make time for yourself. When you look at your schedule, where’s your happy hour? IT’S 2018: STOP TALKING; JUST DO IT
Hey guys!
So, here we are — back at the beginning of a new year. We’re approaching the end of the first month of the year. Which means, a lot of us are about to drop the ball with at least one of our “new year, new me” goals. Even if that is the case, it’s okay because who says you can’t pick it back up?

Hey guys! Happy New Year! It’s officially 2018 and now it’s time to get things poppin’.
Faux Leather in Every Hue
We’re well into fall and, every fall, there’s a new leather jacket trend. The leather jacket trend never really goes away — there’s just always a “bigger” and “better” version. Continue reading “Faux Leather in Every Hue”
Throwback Thursday, Everyday: 90’s Fashion is Still the Trend
The 90’s fashion vibe is back, with bright colors, oversized lapels, box braids, and natural beauty looks galore, and it’s creepin’ in with a little more TLC. Not only is this trend showing us some tender love and care, but it’s taking us back to the good ol’ days of the 90’s, reminding us of our favorite 90’s celebs.
Fashion in the 90’s was effortless and edgy. Designers of New York Fashion Week are taking this effortless edge and adding a dash of that 90’s fashion vibe to their collections. These new looks have a twist, but, from the cross walk to the runway, 90’s fashion is unmistakable. Continue reading “Throwback Thursday, Everyday: 90’s Fashion is Still the Trend”

Gabrielle Unions Slays the Emmys Red Carpet
Stars made their way down the red carpet for the Emmys on Sunday. The carpet was filled with a lot of bold fashion choices. Some looks were great and some were, well, not so great.
Amongst all of the celebs that were there, Gabrielle Union and her husband, NBA player Dwyane Wade, made an appearance. According to Gabrielle’s Instagram, this was the couple’s first time being at the Emmy’s and, from the looks of it, she took it very seriously. NYFW S/S18: LaQuan Smith
Designer LaQuan Smith showcased his self-titled Spring/Summer 2018 collection during New York Fashion Week. The presentation was held in Beacon School, a college preparatory school in New York City. The perfect location for a collection inspired by school movies — those movies from the 90’s and early 2000s that we can’t get enough of.
If you’re a 90’s fan like I am, you’ll love this collection. From form fitting to oversized camo pieces, to revealing high slits, plaid and mesh, the pieces in this collection turn heads.
Here are some looks I love that give that School Daze vibe:

NYFW S/S18: RiRi Takes Fashion Week by Storm
I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but Rihanna is killing it! Rihanna debuted the Fenty x Puma Spring/Summer 2018 collection at New York Fashion Week. As the creative director, Rihanna works with design director, Melissa Battifarano, to bring Fenty x Puma to life. The duo has done it again with the collection for this season!
This season’s Fenty x Puma collection was motocross inspired and has both women’s and men’s looks. The collection features men’s motocross looks that have been transformed into feminine streetwear — These looks were my favorite. The looks managed to keep oversized silhouettes while still accentuating the curves of the female body and adding a dose of sex appeal to the collection. From the moto style jackets to biker pants and high cut swim suits, the collection was power packed with amazing looks.
Here are a few of my favorites:
