Black Girl Magic at the Met Gala (2017)

This year’s Met Gala red carpet featured some black girl magic. I live for red carpets; looking at celebs walk the carpet, hoping they’ll live up to my expectations — sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. I’m one of those people that never really cares about watching award shows (unless Beyonce is performing lol). The Grammys… all about the red carpet. The Oscars… all about the red carpet.

The Met gala, even though it’s not an award show, is still all about the red carpet. Plus, it’s always satisfying to see the black girl magic slay-age. In case you missed out on any of it, here are some of the few queens that, I think, killed the carpet and let their black girl magic shine.

Confidently Curly

I don’t often touch on the topic of natural hair nor do I often share my own experiences with my natural hair. However, being a natural girl, I pay attention to all the hype on social media; bloggers, YouTubers, comments made by those in transition that have questions and concerns, and so on… With all of the “natural attention”, I started thinking about my journey and how I’ve grown, being natural. Though many think it is, I’ve learned that most of the transition isn’t magical.
