Spring is here! Well… it’s supposed to be here. The weather is acting a bit funky right now, but at least that gives you more time to perfect your spring wardrobe. I’m still working on perfecting mine. While you’re doing that, here are 10 items/ trends you MUST have in your closet this season.
1. BOYFRIEND JEANS
… Or girlfriend jeans, if you think they’re a better fit.
2. LIGHTWEIGHT COAT/JACKET
I really wanted to break this down to three things; a trench coat, a denim jacket, and a windbreaker/bomber jacket… That would’ve exceeded the “1o must haves”, so I cheated and put them in a category (lol).
3. STRIPES, STRIPES, STRIPES
Stripes! There was no way to show all the ways stripes can be worn; shoes, shirts, shorts, pants, dresses… Striped pieces are go-tos for the spring and summer. Remember: There are rules to stripes. Everyone can wear them, but do so in a way that best fits your body.
4. THE PERFECT SUNDRESS
Beyonce has this concept down, as seen in her visual album, Lemonade.
5. SMALL BAG
Summer is filled with so many outdoor activities and on the go planning. Small bags are cute and convenient.
6. LIGHTWEIGHT SWEATER
Like we’re experiencing right now, spring weather goes from being in the high 70s one day, to low 60s the next. Lightweight sweaters are a major key for layering.
7. A PAIR OF WHITE KICKS
Why do I not have a pair of white Converse? Silly, I know. I’m buying some the next time I go shopping! (lol.) A pair of white kicks creates such a clean look during the sunny summer days.
8. NUDE LIP
“Nude” really means your nude. Think about the way you choose hosiery. The “nude” hosiery they sell doesn’t match anybody. If you have a deeper skin tone, the color on the box may say “coffee”, but it’s your nude!
9. POINTED TOE FLATS
Pointed toe flats… this seems pretty self-explanatory. They’re casual and chic. Get some! (lol)
10. BLOCK HEELS
Can I say how happy I am that it’s acceptable to wear heels under 6 inches! That doesn’t mean throw your stilettos away. We just added a new shoe to your wardrobe. Block heels are so cute for the spring and summer seasons and convenient because they can be dressed up or down.
